Chocolate Turtle Brownies

 

 I made this and thought about my oldest sibling. Him and his turtles.  The hardest part was putting this brownie back in the pan for a later treat.

Chocolate Turtle Brownies

  • Servings: a 9 X 13 Pan full of brownies...so depends on how BIG you cut your brownies 🙂

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided 1 cup each

1/2 cup butter or margarine

3 large eggs

1 & 1/4 cups all purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

12 caramels

1 tablespoon milk

a 9X13 pan and lard or Pam type shortening spray

HOW TO

set oven at 350 degrees

grease the 9×13 baking pan

melt 1 cup chocolate chips and butter over low heat.  remove and stir in eggs, flour, sugar, soda and vanilla extract.

spread batter into the 9×13 baking pan.  add remaining chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.

bake for 20-25 minutes.

when brownies are just out of the oven, microwave the caramels and milk until smooth.

pour caramel sauce over warm brownies.
