Cherry Streusel Coffee Cake

CAKE

1 & 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup butter or margarine

4 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

2 & 1/2 cups flour

1 & 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

21 ounce can of cherry pie filling, drained.

TOPPING

2/3 cups chopped pecans

2/3 cup oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)

3 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons butter or margarine

3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

HOW TO

oven at 325°   Spray a 9X9 pan with cooking spray, like Pam. Set aside.

Combine topping and set aside.

CAKE  Combine flour, soda and salt.  Set aside.

Beat butter and sugar till fluffy.  Add eggs, one at a time.  Add extracts.  Beat till combined.  Add flour mix to butter mixture until moist.

Spoon batter into pan evenly.  Spoon cherries on top of batter. Very lightly press cherries into batter.  Sprinkle topping over cherries.  Bake 50-60 minutes.
