1/2 cup Butter, softened (and yep, the recipe claims you can use margarine)… but, I used butter 3/4 cup Brown Sugar, packed 1 Teaspoon Vanilla 1 Egg 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda 1/4 Teaspoon Salt 1 cup + 2 Tablespoons all purpose Flour 1 Cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips, divided (3/4 cup and 1/4 cup) 1 Cup White Chocolate Chips, divided (3/4 cup and 1/4 cup) 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (Now this is always a sticking point for my family. I have a couple peeps who just do NOT liked baked nuts. Period. Me, on the other hand, like them… So, when I make this recipe, I omit the nuts *sighs* Hmmm maybe I should make a double batch next time one without nuts and then my pan with nuts. ) HOW TO: I lined a 9X9 square pan with parchment paper. I suppose you can use tin foil… or even just butter the sides and bottom of the square pan. oven at 375° Cream butter and brown sugar till smooth. blend in all the other ingredients EXCEPT the chocolate chips. When blended, fold in the 3/4 cups of both white and semisweet chips. Bake for 23 – 25 minutes. Remove and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cups of both white and semisweet chips over the bars. Put back in the oven for maybe a minute or two till the chips get melted a bit. Remove and lightly swirl the melted chips over the top. It don’t have to be perfect!! Cool in the pan until the chocolate is set. Mississippi Mud Bars
