Monte Cristo Party Sliders

  • Servings: 24 sliders
  • Print

2 packs (12-count each) King’s Hawaiian Rolls

1/2 pound of deli sliced Honey Ham

1/2 pound of deli sliced Smoked Turkey

1/2 pound sliced Swiss Cheese (or Gruyere, or muenster)  I used the swiss

1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted

1 Egg

2 tablespoons of Dijon type mustard

Powdered sugar

a 9 X 13 oven safe baking pan

cooking spray (like Pam)

tin foil

HOW TO:      oven @ 350°

To start, take your baking pan, flip it over so it’s upside down.  Make a tin foil tent using the bottom and sides of the pan as a guide.  set the tent aside.  Flip the baking pan right side up and line it with tin foil and lightly spray with cooking spray.  Set aside.

Take rolls out of package.  Do not separate them.  Slice them horizontally, making 2 giant rectangles.  Place both bottom sections in the lined baking pan. (should fit nicely).

Layer ham, then turkey, then cheese evenly over the sliced rolls.  Place tops of rolls over cheese.  Set aside.

Whisk together:  melted butter, egg and mustard.  Coat each roll.  Cover rolls with your tin foil tent.  Bake 20 minutes.  Take sliders out of oven and remove tin foil tent.  Place back in the oven and continue baking for 10 more minutes.

Remove from oven and let sliders rest for 15 minutes.  Remove rolls from pan and slice into single servings.  When ready to serve, dust with the powdered sugar.
