There’s not many recipe I make with ground sausage, but this is one we really enjoy. My girlfriend and I talked about different ground sausage recipe we have between us and it wasn’t more than 4. Soooo, here’s a fifth to our stack! It’s easy to make. The only draw back is time. It sits in the oven for 90 minutes. Other than that, I love the flavor and ease of this one.
INGREDIENTS
1 pound fresh ground sausage
1 onion, finely chopped
1 green pepper, finely chopped
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
2 & 1/2 cups Hot water
1 envelope chicken noodle mix-dry
HOW TO: oven at 375 degrees
brown sausage, onion, bell pepper and celery. Drain grease. Return to stove. Add water, rice and chicken noodle dry-mix. Stir until the chicken noodle dry-mix dissolves and no lumps are visable from the dry-mix. Pour sausage mixture into a baking dish (i think mine is 3 quart size). Cover. (I used tin foil and tightly sealed it). Bake for 90 minutes. I serve mine with a side salad and dinner rolls.
Thank you Corrie S. for the recipe!
