Sweet & Sour Sauce

 

I had some kinda boring frozen pork egg rolls at lunch today.  Meh!  Fortunately i have a sweet & sour recipe that saved the day.  You can easily make this while the egg rolls are in the oven getting hot.

Sweet and Sour Sauce

  • Servings: Enough for a box of eggrolls... about 18 eggrolls

Get a medium sized sauce pan.  you are gonna dump all the ingredients into this pan.

3/4 cup sugar

1/3 cup white vinegar

2/3 cup water

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon ketchup

2 tablespoons cornstarch.

HOW TO

As you bring this to a boil,  use a whisk and combine…till it is one consistancy. Then bring to a boil, stirring all the time and reduce heat to a simmer. Once the sauce thickens up,   set aside to cool down a bit. Serve with your egg roll. (makes approximately 1 & 1/2 cups)  AND it can be frozen.
