Mandarin Orange Dump Jello


It’s a dump salad only because I just dump in whatever odds and ends I have remaining in the refrigerator.  I’ve made this jello several times in different ways and I have had several people want the recipe.  So here ya go!

Mandarin Orange Dump Jello Salad

1 large box Orange Jello  NOT SUGAR FREE

2 cups Boiling Water

2  15-ounce cans of Mandarin Oranges.  DO NOT DRAIN JUICE

1 8-ounce tub of Cool Whip

–> This next ingredient is the “Whatever you can dump in” part.  Choose one of the below ingredients:  2 serving size yogurts.  I try to stick with orange, but have used many different flavors over the years   OR a couple scoops of vanilla icecream   OR   orange sherbert    Get creative!


Add 2 cups boiling water to the jello.  Stir until well dissolved.

Drain and keep the juice from the mandarin oranges.  Set aside Juice and oranges.

add your choice of yogurt OR Ice Cream OR Sherbert…ect.  Next fold in the cool whip.  Combine well by whisking.  After the jello is completely combined, gently add the mandarin oranges.  

Measure the reserved mandarin orange juice.  It should not exceed 1 & 1/2 cups of liquid.  If the juice does not produce even a cup, add a bit of cold water to the juice.  You can use any where from 1 cup to 1 & 1/2 cups of liquid.  No more than 1 & 1/2 cups of liquid…otherwise the jello will not firm up.

Refrigerate till firm.  Keep leftovers covered with plastic wrap in refrigerator.
